21.14 Establishment of the Shoreline of Barron Island
The City of La Crosse, La Crosse County, Wisconsin, by and through its Common Council does hereby declare that the interest of the public and pursuant to Section 30.11, Wisconsin Statutes, requires the establishment of a bulkhead line along a part of the shore of Barron's Island (west channel Mississippi River, La Crosse County, Wisconsin) as hereinafter described.

That the bulkhead line of that part of the East shore line of the West channel of the Mississippi River hereinafter described and more particularly shown by the attached map is established and determined as set forth in the following description and attached map, subject to the approval of the State of Wisconsin, Department of Natural Resources, to wit:

A bulkhead line lying in the NW 1/4, Section 13, Township 104 North, Range 4 West, City of La Crosse, Wisconsin, more particularly described as follows:

Commencing at the Northeast corner of Lot 4, Hoeschler's Park Plaza Addition to the City of La Crosse, thence North 63 degrees 39' West 208.7 feet, thence North 12 degrees 40' West 184 feet to the centerline of U. S. Highway 14, 16 and 61, thence South 3 degrees 40' East 145 feet more or less to the original shore line (elevation 630.6), the point of beginning.

Thence continuing South 3 degrees 40' East 374 feet, thence South 14 degrees 89 feet, thence South 15 degrees 30' East 318 feet, thence South 4 degrees 00' East 304 feet, thence South 12 degrees 40' East 137 feet, thence South 54 degrees 50' East 270 feet more or less to the original shore line (elevation 630.6) and there terminating.

Said bulkhead line describes the slope-water intersection at elevation 630.6 (U.S.G.S. 1929 adj.).

That upon adoption of this Ordinance, three (3) certified copies of same, together with three (3) true and correct copies of such map, be submitted to the Department of Natural Resources for its approval.

That upon return and receipt of such approved maps, the same shall be filed as follows:  One in the office of the Department of Natural Resources, one in the office of the City Clerk of the City of La Crosse, and one in the office of the Register of Deeds in and for La Crosse County, Wisconsin.
