La Crosse MTU provides safe and convenient public transportation services to the La Crosse area. Our service area currently includes La Crosse, French Island, a portion of Onalaska, and La Crescent, Minnesota. The service is owned and operated by the City of La Crosse with financial support from the communities we serve.
Our bus routes consist of 8 fixed-routes and 2 flex-routes offering transportation throughout the area, with most routes operating seven days a week.
Specialized or Para-transit service is available for individuals unable to use fixed route buses. This specialized service, called MTU Mobility Plus, is under contract to a private provider and is only available to individuals certified as ADA Para-transit eligible.

PUBLIC NOTICE DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE (DBE) GOAL FISCAL YEAR 2025
The La Crosse Municipal Transit Utility in accordance with regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation, 49 CFR, intends to submit to the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) a program goal of 5.15% for DBE Participation in MTU contract activities for the Fiscal Year 2025. This notice is to afford the general public and the contracting community an opportunity to comment. The MTU program goal and its rationale may be reviewed from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday at the MTU office, 2000 Marco Dr, La Crosse Wisconsin for 30 days following the date of this notice.
Written comments regarding the goal and the methodology used for developing it will be accepted for forty-five (45) days after the publication of this notice.
