10/21/2019 - Temporary Lane Closure Rose St at Monitor Street
On Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at approximately 11 A.M., Rose Street (USH 53 northbound) will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic, with a detour beginning at Monitor Street.  The temporary closure and detour are necessary for removal and replacement of a collapsing sanitary sewer under Rose Street, near Hagar Street.  The Board of Public Works declared an emergency this morning to expedite repairs.

A detour will be posted for through and truck traffic, using Monitor Street, Lang Drive/George Street, Saint Cloud/Saint James Streets, River Valley Drive, and Gillette Street—returning to USH 53 at Rose & Gillette.

Additionally, the intersection of Rose and Hagar Streets will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic.  Side streets between Monitor Street and the Rose Street bridge over the CP Rail will remain open to east-west traffic.  Rose Street, as well as side streets, will remain open to local traffic only between Hagar Street and Clinton Street.

Motorists should anticipate traffic backups intermittently throughout the day, especially at peak hour times.  Depending upon underground dewatering operations and weather conditions, the temporary closure is expected to last until next Friday, November 1, 2019.
