10/1/2018 - Grant Awarded to Improve Water Infrastructure and Support Business Growth

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION GRANT TO IMPROVE WATER INFRASTRUCTURE AND SUPPORT BUSINESS GROWTH

On Thursday, September 27, 2018 it was announced that the City of La Crosse received a grant from U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) to improve water infrastructure and support business growth in La Crosse.

The $3.6M grant funds will be used to improve and redevelop three storm water lift stations to safeguard businesses from future flooding, attract new industry, and boost the overall economic activity of the region. The critical storm water infrastructure improvements are located in La Crosse’s North watershed, which is outdated and fails to meet safety standards for the expanding region.

The City of La Crosse will hold a press conference Monday, October 1 at 3:00PM in the 3rd floor conference room of City Hall.
