The City of La Crosse’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is announcing two funding opportunities to support various community development projects through the City of La Crosse.
The first opportunity is $587,0000 in funding in support of housing development, economic development, public works projects and code enforcement. Of this total, there is a $250,000 set-aside for a LIHTC multi-family housing development and $45,000 for a pre-certified Community Housing Development Organization. Housing and economic development projects will only be funded as loans, with the terms requested by the applicant. Applicants may only apply for a project that meets one of these objectives: demolition and replacement of single family homes, rehabilitation of single family homes or duplexes, construction or rehab of multi-family rental housing, economic opportunities for low-and-moderate income persons, public infrastructure in Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Areas, green infrastructure for storm water management, code enforcement. The second opportunity is $185,000 in small grants ranging from $10,000 - $25,000. The purpose of these grants are to support the operations of programs that service low-moderate income person. These are called public service grants. The selected grant recipients will receive funding for two years. Only one public service grant application per organization. Click here to apply.
All applicants will be required to complete a pre-application and have that approved before they can begin an application. Only organizations that meet certain qualifications (outlined in the pre-application) may apply.
