LA CROSSE, Wis. – Community members looking for a new career path will get a helping hand from three local groups. For the first time and as part of their ongoing collaboration efforts, the City of La Crosse, the County of La Crosse, and the School District of La Crosse will be hosting a free career fair on Thursday, March 3, 2016, from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Southside Neighborhood Center located at 1300 6th Street South in La Crosse.
The career fair will allow interested participants to meet with hiring managers, become more familiar with career opportunities, apply for job vacancies. The School District of La Crosse, will conduct some on-site interviews. Candidates applying to District vacancies are encouraged to bring a resume and work contact references. All are welcome to attend.
Examples of positions routinely needing to be hired include: information technology, food nutrition, nursing home services, bus operators, mechanics, clerical support, social work, teacher assistants, custodial services, and substitute staff.
These three public entities have been working very closely over the past seven years in order to maximize efficiencies, professionally develop staff, and problem-solve complex issues facing the community. Dr. Salerno, Associate Superintendent of Human Resources for the School District of La Crosse state, “The career fair is another positive example of this collaboration helping our community to grow even stronger.”
