Spend the day at the International Owl Center and have the opportunity to attend two programs.
The first program will be Owl Detectives. Find out whooo’s in your backyard. Discover how to identify six species of owls in the area by size, shape, sound, and silhouette with a heavy emphasis on sound. You will learn how to imitate the owl calls in the process and there is a quiz at the end!
The second program will be Owls Through the Ages. Owls are found all around the world. In this program you will learn how owls are seen in different cultures. Travel back in time to the very first owl cave carving and find out how people are combating negative stereotypes about owls around the world.
Both programs conclude with things that people can do in their lives to make the world a better place for owls. Three to five owls will be on display at the Owl Center.
Lunch will be on your own at JT’s Corner Bar & Grill in Houston.
