February 27, 2024 - Travel to Romania with Cristina Kovacs, where she was born and raised before immigrating to the US. Did you know that insulin was discovered in Romania, that their Parliament's Palace is the second largest in the world after the Pentagon, and that opening an umbrella indoors will bring you bad luck? Join us for more on the local food and culture, endless superstitions and funny expressions, while also virtually visiting Dracula's Castle in the heart of Transylvania.
March 26, 2024 - Back to Italy! After thirteen years of being in the United States, travel back to Northern Italy with Alex Craugh to experience the Italian culture through the perspective of a local. This presentation will highlight the lifestyle of local Italians in the Venetian Region that is full of laughter, family, and unforgettable food- perhaps even a special treat!
April 30, 2024 - Travel to China! If you are looking for a travel destination that is exotic, packed full of new sights and experiences, and stimulating, China is the best in the world. Charles Martin-Stanley has visited China on three different occasions. He will discuss his travels to Beijing, Guilin, and Wuhan. In addition, Charles will discuss some of China's awesome and monumental cultural, scenic, and historical sites— from Guilin's charming karst to the Great Wall, buried armies, rivers, pagodas, temples, and giant Buddhas.
