La Crosse Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred at approximately 3:00 am this morning (07-09-2020).
At 3:03 am this morning the La Crosse Police were dispatched to the area of 200 8th St. north for a report of multiple gun shots. Arriving officers determined that multiple shots were fired into the residence at 229/231 8th St. North and that no one inside the residences were struck by the gun fire or injured as part of the incident. Officers were able to identify a possible suspect vehicle observed leaving the scene. This vehicle was located by a La Crosse Police civilian employee and ultimately stopped by UW-La Crosse Police with the assistance of Onalaska Police. The traffic stop resulted in three people being taken into custody and the seizure of two firearms and one facsimile gun.
This is an ongoing investigation and no one has been referred on charges as part of the incident yet. There is no identifiable threat to the public in association of this incident. The La Crosse Police will be working with the La Crosse County District Attorney’s Office and provide more information as it becomes available.
