The commission's powers and duties are outlined in Municipal Code Section 22-23(2).
The mission of the Human Rights Commission is to work for the dignity and safety of the La Crosse community by promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The Human Rights Commission receives, initiates, and investigates complaints alleging discriminatory practices prohibited by Municipal Code Chapter 22.
Submit a Complaint
Enforcement procedures are outlined in Municipal Code Section 22-24.
If you are a resident of the city of La Crosse and you believe that you have been discriminated against, you may submit a written complaint to the Human Rights Commission. Please note that the act of discrimination must have happened in the city of La Crosse and within 180 days of the date the complaint is filed.
