The Design Review Committee consists of the following Department Heads or their designee: Chief Inspector, Planning & Development, Fire Department, Police Department, Public Works, Water and Sanitary Sewer Utility and Engineering. Designs may receive approval, conditional approval or denial.
Exceptions to the standards may be allowed on a case-by-case basis, consistent with the overall purpose of the ordinance.
Apply for a Request for Exception to Standards
Applications must be filed with the City Clerk on forms provided by the City. Applications filed by 5:00 p.m. on the Friday preceding the second Thursday of the month will be submitted to and considered by the Common Council at its regular scheduled meeting the following month. Applications will not be considered until the following month due to publication and property owner notification requirements.
All requests for exceptions to the standards shall be requested in writing with the original request for approval. Any request for exceptions shall be routed to the Design Review Committee, City Plan Commission, Judiciary and Administrative Committee and Common Council for consideration and final determination as a legislative enactment.
Filing Fee
$300.00 is due at the time of application (cash, check payable to the City Treasurer or credit card subject to convenience fee).More Information
