La Crosse Special Recreation

There are many volunteer opportunities through Special Olympics and Special Recreation.  Before anyone volunteers with the Special Olympics and Special Recreation programs, they are required to go through a Class A Volunteer Orientation.  For the orientation, you will need to bring a photo ID and your social security number.  At the orientation, you will fill out an application, take an online Protective Behaviors training, and Special Olympics WI will do a background check.  Staff will also go over all of the the available volunteer opportunities. Orientations are held at Black River Beach Neighborhood Center, 1433 Rose St and take about 30-45 minutes.  Please contact Aimee Schmidt if you are interested in setting up an orientation.
