What is DEPP?
The Downtown Employee Parking Permit (DEPP) offers a 50% discount on monthly permits in the following ramps:
- La Crosse Center Ramp - 201 Jay Street
- Main Street Ramp - 115 3rd Street N
- Market Square Ramp - 410 Jay Street
- Pine Street Ramp - 222 Pine Street
- Riverside Ramp - 424 2nd Street S
Volunteers, interns, and employees who work in the Downtown Parking District (see map below), work at least 20 hours a week, and make below 60% of the median income for La Crosse County (based on United States Department of Housing and Urban Development published income guidelines) are eligible for a $20/month parking pass. Effective April 1, 2024, the wage limit is $1,721.00 per month.
Downtown Employee Parking Permit Application
If you meet the above qualifications, you can submit application materials two ways:
- Online via our Parking Utility Permit website.
- Click on "Permits" on the top left, and then "Downtown Employee Parking Permit".
- If you are a renewing customer, enter your customer number and password - if you've forgotten this information, contact the Parking Utility at parking@cityoflacrosse.org or (608) 789-7295.
- If you are a new customer, create a new account.
- Once you are signed-in, select the application icon to bring up the Application form. Fill this out and save to your computer.
- Then upload this saved form where indicated.
- Select verification icon to upload a copy of most recent payroll check stub.
- You will receive an email from the Parking Utility once your application is approved.
- In-person, through the mail, or email
- Download the Downtown Employee Parking Permit Application.
- Supply a Proof of Income - a copy of most recent payroll check stub.
- Submit these two items one of the following ways:
- Drop off at the La Crosse Police Department, 1st Floor City Hall, 400 La Crosse Street, La Crosse, Monday through Thursday from 8:00AM - 4:00PM.
- Mail to the above address with attention to "Parking Utility".
- Email information to parking@cityoflacrosse.org.
- Submit these two items one of the following ways:
- Applicant will be contacted by Parking office.
Upon receipt, ensure you follow the Parking Permit Guidelines listed below. For questions, email the Parking Utility or call (608) 789-7295.
Downtown Employee Parking Permit Guidelines:
- Working in the City of La Crosse Downtown Parking District (see map below).
- Work/intern/volunteer at least 20 hours a week.
- Make below 60% of median income for La Crosse County based on United State Department of Housing and Development published income guidelines. Effective April 1, 2024, the wage limit is $1,721.00/month.
- No outstanding parking citations with the City of La Crosse.
- Only allowed to park in the designated areas on the very upper level of any parking ramp.
- Payment required each month for permit. Monthly fee is due in advance, by the 26th of the month in which permit expires.
- Permit may not be used for long-term storage of personal vehicles or company vehicles. Vehicles left over seventy-two (72) hours are subject to being towed away.
- Permits are not transferable to another person or vehicle.
