Home MenuWater Quality
The La Crosse Water Utility provides safe, high-quality drinking water 24 hours each day. We have an extensive water quality monitoring and treatment program that complies with all regulatory standards. The water staff uses a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system for monitoring and controlling day-to-day operation of the system. In addition, chlorine and fluoride are added throughout the system for disinfection and dental health.
While providing fresh, safe water for a healthful quality of life, we provide commercial and manufacturing business, and research with a reliable supply of high-quality water at a low price.
Water quality and operations are regulated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Rates are regulated by the PSC.
