This past week, the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics was awarded the Diamond Award of Excellence for efforts fundraising for athletes throughout the State of Wisconsin. La Crosse Police Department Sergeant Whitney Hughes was part of the 10-member Special Olympics Wisconsin delegation to accept the award during the LETR for Special Olympics International Conference held in San Antonio, Texas. Each year, Law Enforcement members across the State of Wisconsin partner with members of Special Olympics in planning, promoting, and participating in fundraising events for Special Olympic Athletes. This past year, Wisconsin raised $1,471,674.00 for Special Olympics. We hope you will join us in 2025 as we kick off the year with the Polar Plunge the first weekend of March!
